Dayna Ball, Reservations, 2023 - 06 Reservations are a newly formed technique where a portion of the object is ‘reserved’ out of consideration as art. In the first example, we witness continuing landscape unaddressed. This is visually demonstrated with a lacking of texture and glaze. In the second, we witness space taken up around the flowers and similarly unaddressed. In the third, the art scene itself is hidden underneath the pot entirely, an intellectually abstract tongue-in-cheek commentary on pots as art and the object itself as art.
